Okay, so here we can talk about all things Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang!

Ever thought you would much rather be in Durmstrang than Hogwarts? Ever wanted to rant at how the movie director either got the schools perfectly, or totally screwed them up in the movies?

This is the place!

Let's start you off...

I wonder why Beauxbatons has such beautiful, graceful students, and then the Headmistress was huge. I would have expected a Veela or something. And the movie director made it an all-girls school, as far as I can see. I don't remeber any boys in there. And I don't think the boys would flutter their eyelashes and sigh when they did their little show at the start. Y'Know, Durmstrang did this whole stomping on the ground between the House Tables and being all manly and stuff...

Yup, in the fourth book, Beauxbatons was represented as an all-girl school, and Durmstrang as an all-boy school in the movies, although it wasn't that way in the books. The funky little dance sequence is probably the reason, you're right, even though it was completely unnecessary. I hate how they add parts, like that, then completely cut out others.

I hated when the girls sighed and farted butterflies. Disgusting.

And the breakdancing from Durmstrang? HA! Laughable.

I guess they didn't want to put guys in Beauxbatons because they'd make them all pansy and stereotypically french and that would offend people?

And Durmstrang came on a boat. I guess the directors just figured only men could run a ship.

Although if you factor in magic....anyone could. Stupid men thinking only linear thoughts.

If I was in "Dude-I'd-love-to-go-to-Hogwarts" mode I'd totally pick Beaux, I mean seriously, how good do I look in ligt blue? So good...

*Laughs* I'd go to Hogwarts, but if I HAD to choose, I'd go to Beaux. No, wait! Durm! No wait... Uhm... Uhm...

I'd go to Durmstrang.

Bah! I'd go to Hogwarts and drive everyone up the wall.

I'd wander around the halls shouting voldemort.....make friends with Mrs Norris.......bring a pack of man-eating wolfdogs as my pets....wait, what? >.>

But say if you HAD to choose between Bueax (sp?) and Durm, which one?

I would go to Beauxbatons University, because they don't have dormitories. You could either go home through floo or have a private flat/apartment around Paris! (Sorry, Beaux Uni was in a fic I read, 'Per Solum Lacuna' which was one of the first ones I've read, Harry/Draco of course, the first magics journals fic, with true love, betrayal, Charlie, Oliver, and two OCs named Jean Paul and some other guy who's such adorable american that Draco meets one time in Rousillion France, it's soo amazing)
Wait, where was I? Oh yes, Beaux Uni ftw!

His name was Devon, Mich.

And I too would choose Beaux, because I suspect it would be gorgeous (Anyone ever read 'Somewhere I Have Never Traveled' by Hatusu? The Beauxbatons in that one is so awesome.)

Though my first choice would be Hogwarts because I'm too lazy to learn French.

And yes, the movie was weird. I was like *blank stare* the first time I watched it and the other schools danced in. I mean, it was cool, but, wtf?

Hmmm ... if I HAD to choose, it would probably be Beaux.

I duna, Durm just doesn't seem to hold much charm for me.

Come on, people? Where's your evil pride?

Beaux (which I am now going to not bother and just type "B" for it, and "D" for Durmstang) would be cool and all, but I mean, D would have evil spells! Come on, people!

OH yeah! Devon! He was such an adorable american that I just had to have him. To bead Draco wasn't ready for a relationship.

And isn't there an American school for witchcraft/wizardry? In Salem Massachusetts? You know, the movie the Crucible? Sabrina the Teenaged Witch?

For me, it would be hard to choose. I love Durmstrang for the pure evilness and I love Beauxbaton for it's beauty. So I'll choose Hogwarts XP.

Of course, I'll run through the hallways with Alex screaming (but in my case), "The Dark Lord has returned!" And one of my ultimate goals would be to drive Dumbles and Harry nuts (if they aren't already).

Oh, and the dancing part in Movie 4. Er...I thought it was cool but sort of..."O.O Where did that come from?"

And yes, Mich. They did mention a Salem's Witches' Academy or something in Book 4 (don't have the books with me since I'm at my sister's office).
