Serpent In Red

Post by SerpentInRed on Thu Oct 09, 2008 12:21 pm

(I love copy and paste =.=...)

I've written a one-shot for this other forum that I used to go to. Then, I've stopped for a while and concentrated reading Dramione fanfics (especially when I knew that J.K. Rowling was definitely going to put Hermione with Ron *glares at canon*). One day, I happened to come across a Voldemort/Hermione fanfic and fell in love with the pairing and thus my entrance into the world of writing chapters and chapters of weird imaginations that randomly pops into my head.

Let's see what I would need here.

Disclaimer: Anything you recognize in the fanfics, do not belong to me whatsoever. They belong to J.K. Rowling and whatever companies has Harry Potter copyrighted under them.

Writing Style: I try to stay consistent with grammar throughout the fanfic. I sometimes would go into details too much and some of my sentences might sometimes be too long. However, if it is pointed out to me in a kind manner, I would definitely change it. I try to stay as true to the canon as I can. I've taken online tests and stuff and had been analyzed to have sarcastic and dark humor so some of it might "accidentally" work its way into my writing. I'm more comfortable in writing from a third-person view and the characters would voice their feelings and thoughts through either saying it out loud or in italics as thoughts.

Author's Notes: I do not acknowledge the fact that there probably is an epilogue for Deathly Hallows (although I've heard many rumors about there being one).

I despise plagiarism. Therefore, if there's something that I've written that is very similar to something else someone else had written, I would appreciate it if someone can tell me and point out the source where I had accidentally plagiarized from.

Fanfiction Username: se0127
Title: A Date on Broadway (found under "Sands in an Hourglass")
A/N: "Sands in an Hourglass" is a compilation of one-shots. Therefore, this name might show up a couple of times in different threads but its because there are different fics in the compilation. As you could probably see, one-shots under this title are generally more...light-hearted (understatement; I probably should've just used plain old "weird"). This one-shot includes: bad attempts at humor and complete randomness. This one-shot does NOT include: my usual standards of writing (not the spelling or grammar persay...I'm talking more about the logic, sarcasm, black humor, etc. that you find in my longer fics).
Rating: T (just in case)
Chapters: 1
Words: 993 (with Author's Note and Disclaimer)
Summary: A couple going to Broadway for a date.
Extract:

“Because I wanted to see ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ ever since Merlin-knows-when. You’ve already ruined our wedding by chasing after Harry right after the vows and ruined our honeymoon by blowing up a few Ministry buildings. You’re not ruining our date,” she replied as she waved her wand and a suit flew out of the closet. She grabbed it over and started to put it on her husband.

“I’m sure people wouldn’t stare at us,” he said sarcastically, indicating his face. Hermione squinted at him before a grin appeared on her face. He took a step backwards, slightly taken aback by the look on her face. He knew when his wife had evil thoughts and this was probably one of those times.

“You know – ”

“No, I don’t. And I have a feeling I don’t want to know.”

“ – you sort of remind me of the Phantom from the show,” Hermione noted as she stared at him from head to toe. “Perhaps we could put a mask on you – ”

“You are doing no such thing,” he objected, revolted at the very idea. The thought of someone seeing him going to a Muggle show was enough for him to cringe for the next few years. Putting a mask on him would be too much.

“Suit yourself. We’d have to do something though…”

Hermione then went to the closet and started to search through the clothing.
