Spam Attack Guidelines!

Spam attack guides.

Spammers are never good. They waste space and make forums harder to post in, but a spam attack is worse.

A spam attack, for those who do not know, is when an individual or organized party will have a session or pure spam. They will attempt to post as much and as frequently as possible, using anything that breaks the rules.

Here are a few steps you should take if a spam attack ever occurs.

Steps.

1. Never post after a spammer.
It may seem right to tell a spammer off, but please refrain and leave your flaming to private messages. This makes the spam easier to find for staff.

2. Report their posts.
If you find spam, please report it using the [pic]http://img364.imageshack.us/img364/7415/reportts7.png[/pic] icon, located in every post. Once you press this you will be told to choose why the post is being reported. Choose spam obviously.

3. PM a staff member.
Even though you have reported the spam, you must inform the staff that a spam attack is occurring. If no staff members are on, please try to contact one of us via MSN or e-mail.

4. Ignore the user.
Some spammers may post shock images in the forums. These images will scare or disgust you but the posts are the easiest to delete, being so obvious. Just add the user to your 'Foes' list to block anything they post.

5. Let the staff do their job.
If you have notified a staff member and he/she is taking control, just wait it out. Once the spammer is banned, just keep an eye out for missed spam that a staff member has skipped over and not deleted and send a staff member the link.

6. Make sure you categorize the spam.
If the spam is shock images, tell us. We'd rather not find out by surprise.

Remember that spammers are usually just bored or angry, there is no point trying to argue with them. Treat a spammer like a machine.

If you see spam from an active member, do not go crazy and notify staff of a spam attack, this is only rule breaking, the post should still be reported. Spam attacks are usually performed by random new accounts.

Spam attacks are obvious, they are extreme posting in every topic with extreme rule breaking posts.

Thank you for your help and co-operation.
